Brax Community Investment Round - Now Open
Brax Technologies has opened its community investment round. For the first time, the people who use Brax devices can also own a piece of the company that makes them.
Rob Braxman explains the round and why we chose this path in a short video.
Why we are raising from our community
Brax makes money in one way: someone buys one of our products. That model only holds if the people funding the company want the same thing our customers want. Most hardware companies raise from venture capital and, sooner or later, lose the freedom to make community-first decisions. We have watched it happen too many times. So instead of going to institutional investors, we went to our customers.
"Our customers understood what we were building before any investor did, so we are offering it to them first," said Dominic Gingras, our co-founder and chief executive.
Two crowdfunding campaigns and more than 7,000 customers got us here, with nothing spent on advertising. Every one of you came by word of mouth. Opening ownership to that same community is the next step.
What we are building with it
The mission has not changed since the first BraX3: an independent alternative to Apple and Android, with privacy handled in hardware and software anyone can inspect. The roadmap we shared earlier this month runs one category at a time. BraX3 is shipping, open_slate is in pre-order, and Wink, WallUp and Posthuman 00 are in design for 2027. This round is how we fund that work, on our own terms and without a boardroom pulling us away from what made Brax worth backing.
Getting closer to the people who back us
We have always built in the open, and this round takes that further. Shareholders get a say in the public product roadmap and a private community where the team can hear what you want built next. We would rather answer to the people who carry our devices in their pockets than to anyone else.
See the opportunity
Everything about the round, including how it works and the full offering materials, is on our investment page.
Thank you for getting us this far.
